Eligibility criteria for couples invited to interview:

• Couples that are in committed relationship;  do not need to be married but should be together for at least one year

• Live in Israel but do not need to both be Israeli citizens

• Both partners between the ages of 25-45

• Strong English speakers

• Sensitive to different cultures and willing to engage on a range of topics

Expectations for couples invited to participate:

Pre-Trip

• Participate in any required HMI training

• Communicate in a timely manner with HMI staff and tour provider Routes Travel

During the Trip

• Be fully present for all HMI activities and session on the itinerary 

• Share about your own identity and experiences, while remaining open to questions and discussion on difficult topics

• Engage with and build relationships with US couples; the expectation is to speak in English when with HMI groups

• Act as “hosts” during free time to help facilitate informal interactions with American couples. This includes but is not limited to; advising on places to eat, get drinks, explore, showing American couples around their city. 

Post-Trip

• Complete a survey on experience

• Invited to stay connected to HMI cohort and HMI partner Jewish Agency for Israel
